The Founders

Justin and Elizabeths story didn’t start here, but they are honoured and excited to be in the historic Pendennis Building.

After opening The Olive Grove in 2021 in Leduc County, Justin and Elizabeth fell in love with operating a wedding venue and creating special events. Unfortunately that venue was one of the many closed by the bylaw change in 2023.

Then, they were told about the Pendennis Building. The first time they toured the building they knew it would be a magical place to celebrate all of life’s special moments, as well as an amazing space to activate and share with Edmontonians.

The dream is to host events, not just for weddings, but also for corporate and networking events, birthday parties, fashion shows, pop-up art galleries, cultural events, workshops, and more!

Elizabeth Mywaart, the CEO of the Pendennis Weddings and Events, began working in the wedding industry in 2011 and has worked as a makeup artist, photographer, videographer, and now venue manager. Her love of weddings and her passion for the details, makes her excellent at helping couples create their dream wedding.
