A Note From Our Founder…

In April of 2024, I (Elizabeth) was diagnosed with breast cancer. While it came as a shock, I was lucky they found it early. The cancer was successfully removed with surgery in May, and I began chemo in July as part of the recommended treatment. I’m now at the halfway point in my chemo treatment and will be done before Christmas!

It has been a wild ride as it was so unexpected, but I’m so lucky to have an amazing team who has really stepped up to fill in the gap as I take time off of work. I have been so proud of how hard they’ve worked to make everything run smoothly even while none of us had planned for this situation.

While chemo is no fun, I’ve been so grateful for the medical system which has been very efficient to take care of me. I’m in very good hands.

I feel great, most of the time, and, while I’ll probably be buying a wig soon to prepare for the upcoming cold season, this hasn’t changed too much for me. I love my work and have moved into more of a CEO role while Halie has been promoted to Operation Manager to take over running events.

I’m still around, just in a different capacity.
We have so many exciting things coming up for this winter season, and we can’t wait to share more soon!

The Founders

Elizabeth and Justin are honoured and excited to be in the historic Pendennis Building.

The dream is to host events, not just weddings, but also corporate and networking events, birthday parties, fashion shows, DJ parties, pop-up art galleries, cultural events, workshops, and more!

Elizabeth Mywaart, the CEO of The Pendennis Weddings and Events, began working in the wedding industry in 2011 and has worked as a makeup artist, photographer, videographer, and now venue manager. Her love of weddings and her passion for the details makes her excellent at helping couples create their dream wedding, and clients to produce the on-brand event they are proud of.

While the dream started with these two, it doesn’t just belong to them anymore. The Pendennis Team now has fifteen staff and it’s growing!
These events couldn’t come alive without the event coordinators, administrators, bartenders, event staff, and security team that make each event fun, safe, and very beautiful.
